International Conference on Earth Observations & Natural Hazards 2017
ICEO&NH (International Conference on Earth Observations & Natural Hazards), yearly international scientific conference, is organized by Institute of Geography (IG) and Taiwan Group on Earth Observations (TGEO), bringing together scientists, who are involving with earth observations & natural hazards from all over the world.
After Hanoi kickoff conference held in 2016, ICEO&NH 2017 will take place in IG, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), from November, 22th to 26th, 2017.
Address: A27 building, No. 18, Hoang Quoc Viet Rd., Cau Giay Dist., Hanoi, Vietnam.
The theme covers many aspects of Earth observations and natural hazards as well as contribution of scientific knowledge to sustain the development of our Earth, and resolve the problems the Earth has to face.
IG
Institute of Geography is a National Institute under Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. Its tasks are carried out to conduct scientific and technological research in the fields of synthetically natural conditions, resources and related socio-economic aspects to build a scientific basis for national and regional socio-economic development planning, participating in the appraisal of sustainable use of resources and environmental protection for socio-economic development projects and applying modern technologies (remote sensing, information technology, automation, cartography, etc.) in geographical studies.
TGEO
Taiwan Group on Earth Observations is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Prof. Academician Yuei-An Liou with members from industry and academia in August 2010. Its goal is to carry out the projects of earth observations supported by the G8 summit of the United Nation in order to find out the solutions or precaution against natural calamities and reduce the impact of disasters, and brings out sustainable development of the earth against global warming and the anomalous climate.
Call for Sessions
The format of the conference will be based on thematic sessions, organized around problems that communities of earth observation scientists face.
The definitive list of the sessions will be announced in the second circulation, which will be disseminated in the middle of 2017, with the names of session conveners.
At this stage, we launch a Call for Sessions: everybody or any scientific research group wanting to propose the organization of a session is asked to send an email before April 30, 2017 to the secretary of the conference (iceonh2017@gmail.com) providing the theme and a short description of his/her proposition, and possibly already a first list of invited speakers and potential participants. Paper sessions as well as (panel) discussion sessions can be proposed.
