Vietnam – Poland Science Workshop

Under the permission of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), from 16 to 18 July 2018, Graduate University of Science and Technology (GUST) collaborated with the Institute of Materials Science and Institute of Physics to organize successfully Vietnam – Poland Science Workshop for young cadres in Conference room 338 - A2 Building, Institute of Materials Science, VAST.

The participants in the workshop were Academic. Nguyen Van Hieu, former Director of VAST; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Liem, Dean of Faculty of Materials Science and Energy – GUST; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Dinh Phuong, Director of Institute of Materials Science; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of Institute of Physics, Prof. Robert Stawarz, Vice Rector of Krakow Pedagogical University, Mr. Szymon Wudarski, Counselor of the Polish Embassy in Vietnam and many professors from the Pedagogical University of Krakow and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

Furthermore, there are nearly 60 delegates, mainly new PhD who has recently completed dissertation defense and PhD student currently pursuing PhD dissertation from Polish Universities, GUST and training and research department in VAST.

In order to strengthen the cooperative relationship in research and postgraduate education between the University of Krakow and GUST, Institute of Materials Science and the Institute of Physics, the workshop focused on 2 sectors which are Natural Sciences and Social Sciences, consisting of 38 reports divided into 4 Sub-Committees:

I) Magnetic nanostructured materials

II) 2D Materials

III) Photonic crystals and Metamaterials

IV) Energy saving material and components.

The Conference took place in a lively atmosphere, has achieved Notable successes. This is a good opportunity for young researchers to broaden their knowledge and gain experience in scientific research from leading national and international experts in some scientific fields, namely materials science and energy, physics

GUST will continue to collaborate with specialized institutes in VAST to organize successfully national and international conferences and seminars to foster cooperation in training and research fields.
